Class FAQs
Q: What types of classes are offered?
A: The collective currently offers separate candle making and UV resin jewelry classes. These classes are suitable for all skill levels!
The collective will be holding community classes at various locations in and around Knoxville that we host and anyone can attend! We will post information on our social media and website about these classes when available, including event location, price per ticket, and how to sign up!
The collective also offers private mobile classes, where you can be the host and invite the attendees to a location of your choice! These booking inquiries can be done directly through our website on our mobile classes page.
Q: Why should I book a mobile class?
A: Mobile classes are perfect for corporate gatherings, team building activities, birthdays, showers, or any other special celebration! We take the guess work out of activity planning and bring the joy of crafting and candle making directly to you!
You should also book a mobile class if you want to have a great time while also giving back to your community! 25% of all proceeds from mobile classes goes towards the collective’s recovery support efforts!
Q: Can I book a mobile class outside of Knoxville, Tennessee?
A: Yes! We are more than happy to facilitate mobile classes within approximately 150 miles of Knoxville. If your location falls outside of this radius, we may still be able to make it happen for an additional travel fee, so please do not hesitate to ask!
Q: How much does hosting a class cost?
A: The base price for a mobile class is $35 per participant plus a $60 setup/travel fee. The setup/travel fee is due as a deposit and is not refundable, but you are able to reschedule your class up to 10 days before the scheduled date. The remaining balance is due on the class date. Themed decorations, additional activities, packaged snacks and beverages, or other requested details may be added to your mobile class package for an added cost! This cost varies depending on request(s).
Q: How long does each class last and how is the time spent?
A: We will need about thirty minutes to an hour prior to starting time for setting up. Our classes are approximately two to three hours depending on the location and type of event (candles or resin.) Tear down time is also about thirty minutes to an hour.
The first hour to hour and a half of the class is dedicated to teaching and assisting participants in making personalized UV resin jewelry/accessories or a custom scented soy candle.
The remaining time allows participants to finish their jewelry/accessory piece or give time their candle to set (takes approximately 45 minutes), as well as mix and mingle, enjoy games and other pre-planned activities, discuss care instructions and package their creations, and browse our for-sale items.
Community classes will always include time for a discussion on the collective’s mission, goals, and recovery makers efforts. While we always love having these discussions, we will not include them in private mobile classes unless requested by the host.
Q: What do you provide for these classes?
A: The collective provides convenient on-site setup and tear down, all needed candle/craft supplies, individual trays and protective table mats for each participant, and direct guidance and assistance throughout the class.
As mentioned above, we are also able to provide packaged snacks and beverages, additional games/activities, or themed decorations!
Q: What do I need to provide to host a mobile class?
A: Your space must be large enough and include enough chairs and table space to accommodate the number of guests/participants in your class.
We will also need access to a power outlet and two 4-foot tables or workspace equivalent (we can provide these 4-foot tables if needed!)
